Second Step Housing presents the story of Gregg's Place...
New Year’s Day……a day most of us look forward to … a day of new beginnings. The day that represents happiness for the whole world. Jubilation and celebration with the closest of friends and family.
My family did not have that kind of day on January 1, 2005. That was the day that we got the phone call that no parent, child or sibling can ever imagine. My brother Gregg had passed away.
Gregg passed away because he had suffered in silence. That suffering ultimately led him to his grave and left a wake of sadness and 10 years of grieving. Gregg was a normal kid, a great kid. No trouble with the law, a college degree and a great job. All of that allowing the pain and suffering to languish deeper.
In 2014, Second Step Housing in conjunction with Consumer Voices Are Born and the Clark County Drug Court program opened up Gregg's Place. A home for women in recovery actively making a better life for themselves and their families. Allowing them to better their lives daily with wellness and support so they don't need to suffer.
Gregg’s Place shall offer a refuge for those in recovery. By supporting this special place you are keeping alive a memory and providing a future to those who once could not see one.
